About Us

My Name is Greg Brown and I am excited to tell you about my vision for Cover Your Neighbor. I want to start with the origination of the name, I could tell you I toiled, researched and surveyed folks as to whether this was a good name or not. However the term "cover" was the first thing that came to mind as I see so many homeless without protection from the elements, Here is websters definition for both cover and neighbor.

cov·er

 verb \ˈkə-vər\

: to put something over, on top of, or in front of (someone or something else) especially in order to protect or hide.

[ney-ber]

1.one's fellow human being: 2. a person who shows kindliness or helpfulness toward his or her fellow humans: to be a neighbor to someone in distress.

Do I need to say more..this is what I want to do this is my calling (my story)

Our Strategy is Both Functional and Technological

Our neighbors without four walls need immediate/emergency help on a daily basis so we will provide the kind of products to them that are necessary to survive the streets. One way to help out our neighbors is by providing them with Survival Kits. These kits are pretty basic, but when you have no place to live, simple things can make a big difference. Suddenly things we take for granted become IMPORTANT!

Our second strategy is to provide technological solutions to other providers of services to our neoghbors

WE PROVIDE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS TO END HOMELESSNESS

We develop and provide critical technology and services to agencies and volunteers that work directly with the homeless in their community.
We help build mutually-beneficial solutions, while ensuring that data is safeguarded. As a result of this data, you can be much more successful in knowing whether we are making a difference in reducing homelessness in our community.

A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a coordinated system of computers that enable service, shelter and housing providers in different locations across a continuum (community, county or state) to collect and share information about the homeless individuals and families seeking services within their continuum.

Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is extremely important to our mission to find solutions to prevent and end homelessness. Being able to collect this data is really important in helping us answer the question: are we making a difference?
